TURPENOID
In the collage study, TURPENOID, I explored the concept of enveloping touch, conveyed through the appearance of overlapping figures and running oil paint.
This dripping effect is traditionally achieved with the solvent, Turpenoid, a common go-to in the under-painting stages. The visual outcome of this piece was very reminiscent of that process for me.
Touch can be many things: lingering, repetitive, soft, and surrounding. Many memories and ruminations of it blur and overlap, as portrayed in this study.
I created this work by layering digital stock imagery in varying hues, further merging my experiences and identity as a multi-media traditional artist as well as a contemporary designer.
PRODUCT INFORMATION:
• 1.25″ (3.18 cm) thick poly-cotton blend canvas
• Fade-resistant, archival-quality print
• Hand-stretched over solid wood stretcher bars
• Mounting brackets included
Note: This product is created on order, so please allow time for it to be delivered. Making products on demand reduces overproduction, so your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
